Zircote Whiskey Cigar Board
Zircote stands out as one of my most preferred woods due to its captivating random grain and color patterns. Typically utilized for guitar frets and minor accents, its high cost of over $70 per foot makes it a sought-after material for those seeking unique and one-of-a-kind items.
The highly polished brass on this board creates a striking contrast against the exceptional wood. The 50 caliber upright has undergone triple polishing, followed by several coats of lacquer for brass, and finally, a coat of Renaissance wax for a lasting shine. All the brass on this board has undergone this meticulous process to ensure its longevity. Additionally, these boards feature a cutting-edge 802g match bullet embedded within.
The 50 BMG dummy round and headstamps stand out vividly against the dark wood. The 2 1/2-inch coaster and ashtray holder incorporate BMG ends suspended in superclear epoxy. I refrained from using black epoxy to preserve the intricate grain pattern. The ashtray is crafted from a single piece of wood and is secured in place by rubber feet.
